Grants and Local Services

The Office of Grants and Local Services (OGALS) administers grant programs funding local, state, and nonprofit organization projects.

Since 2000, OGALS has:
  Administered 8,364 grants from 34 different grant programs.
  Processed 12,771 grant payment requests totaling $1.8 billion.
  Reviewed 5,148 grant applications from 45 competitive grant programs and cycles.  Grant applications requested $6.1 billion in funding.

Currently OGALS administers 630 grant projects totaling $418 million.

Since 1964, over 7,400 parks have been created or improved through 20,000 grants administered by OGALS.

Grant Funds Available

A new National Competitive Program provides $3 million available nation-wide. Send applications to OGALS by July 14, 2014.

150th Logo
California State Parks commemorates the 1864 establishment of the first state park in the world.

During this 150th anniversary year, the Office of Grants and Local Services (OGALS) encourages local park agencies to participate in the anniversary and continue to share the legacy of providing park and recreation needs for communities throughout the state through grant program funding.
