S.B. Ridgeway Pharmacy Bottle

This clear glass bottle has the same appearance as a perfume bottle, and is designed to hold a closure. The embossing is within a circle with a stylized "SBR" in the center and "S.B. RIDGEWAY/SACRAMENTO" surrounding it. Stephen B. Ridgeway was a druggist who first arrived in Sacramento in 1869. He opened his own drug store sometime between 1876 and 1878, but was out of business by 1888. This bottle was recovered from Old Sacramento in 1978.
