McGrath State Beach

McGrath State Beach

McGrath State Beach is currently closed due to seasonal flooding and is currently in care taker status. The park has five quiet host sites and a variety of unique volunteer positions to offer. Host sites include a picnic table, fire ring, electrical, water and sewer hookups.

Camp Host duties are unique at McGrath and there is opportunity to expand your volunteer service into several core areas of visitor services and park operations. This includes being assigned to work shifts at the entrance station kiosk at nearby San Buenaventura State Beach, park patrol which includes reporting of incidents and emergencies, light maintenance projects, grounds keeping and other duties such as visitor services admin and the option to be involved in interpretation/naturalist programs and projects. Volunteer service at McGrath State Beach adds new dimensions to state service and in that supports our goal towards the future re-building and care of this unique park unit.

For each volunteer please send via email a completed
application (DPR-208h form), along with resume and an image of your RV with approximate dimensions to Ranger John Geno Lucich at
