Benicia State Parks Association

BSPA logoThe Benicia State Parks Association supports both the Benicia Capitol State Historic Park and the Benicia State Recreation Area.  The California State Legislature convened at Benicia in 1853-54, after which the Legislature voted the move the state capitol to Sacramento.  The Benicia State Recreation Area runs along the Carquinez Strait, and visitors can enjoy its beaches, roads, and bike paths.  Benicia State Parks Association sponsors events including tours, historical reenactments, and an annual celebration of California’s Admission Day.  Please visit their website for additional information.
