Equestrian Poker Ride
Park: Saddleback Butte SP
Saturday April 5, ETI Corral 138 and Corral 9 will lead an equestrian Poker Ride at Saddleback Butte State Park, to help fund improvement and expansion of park equestrian facilities.
Poker hands will be pulled before the ride at the park’s equestrian trail staging area. Elaine Macdonald will lead a 9 mile ride (about 3 hours) along the park’s horse trail and around the back of Saddleback Butte, returning to the staging area where lunch will be served from 11 a.m. until riders return. The trail is ideal for beginner riders or young horses, with sandy terrain and beautiful views of the Antelope Valley and San Gabriel Mountains.
Registration is $15 for ETI members, and $20 for non-members. Registration includes park entrance fee, lunch, and one poker hand (5 cards). Additional cards are $1. The fundraiser benefits the Support Saddleback Fund, spearheaded by the non-profit Poppy Reserve/Mojave Desert Interpretive Association to promote the park by initiating hikes and rides.
