Closure of Bidwell Canyon Low-Water Launch Ramp

Contact: Evan Walter, Supervising Ranger

As of October 27, 2014, the low-water launch ramp at the Bidwell Canyon Area of Lake Oroville State Recreation Area is closed due to submerged hazards and uneven terrain making it unfeasible for the metal mats to be effective. Vessel launching is still available at the four-wheel-drive launch ramp located at the Spillway Area as well as the South Forebay, located on Grand Avenue.

As water levels change, staff will re-evaluate the ability to place the ramp back in service.

The Bidwell Canyon Marina will continue to provide shuttle services from the ramp area.
