Morro Bay, CA – California State Parks and the City of Morro Bay’s Harbor Advisory Board will accept public comment regarding future development and operation of the marina and restaurant facilities at Morro Bay State Park.  The meeting will be held on April 2, 2015, 6:00 p.m. at the Morro Bay Veteran’s Memorial Hall, 209 Surf Street, Morro Bay, CA.

Currently, the marina facilities and restaurant are operated through a concession contract which expired in 1993.  The purpose of this meeting is to solicit public input and ideas to be considered in the preparation of the Request for Proposals (RFP’s) from qualified parties to develop, operate and maintain the facilities under long term contracts.  The RFP’s will satisfy California statutory requirements for concession contracts to be subject to a competitive bid process.

For further information regarding the Morro Bay concession operations, please contact Brooke Gutierrez, Acting District Superintendent of the San Luis Obispo Coast District at (805) 927-2065, email Brooke.Gutierrez@parks.ca.gov or Teresa Montijo, Concession Program Manager at (916) 653-7733, email Teresa.Montijo@parks.ca.gov.
