June 2026

The Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation (OHMVR) Division is hosting the Fifth Annual Off-Highway Vehicle Safety Summit in Bakersfield on Tuesday, June 16. Commissioners from the OHMVR Commission will attend the summit and hold their quarterly meeting on Wednesday, June 17. The Safety Summit is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Commission meeting will begin at 9 a.m. For the complete details, including how to register or join virtually, click here. 

July 2026

The State Park and Recreation Commission will hold a meeting on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 9 a.m., in Scotts Valley at the Four Points Sheraton, 5030 Scotts Valley Drive. The meeting will include a hearing for consideration of the following department recommendations related to Big Basin Redwoods State Park: approval of the proposed General Plan Amendment and certification of the Supplemental Environmental Impact Report (EIR). In addition to the in-person meeting, the virtual hearing will be hosted on the video conferencing service Zoom. Members of the public may comment on specific agenda items through Zoom, phone and in person. Please see the State Park and Recreation Commission Meetings webpage for details prior to the meeting.

California State Parks Concession Opportunity – April 27, 2026 - RFP Opening Advertisement for Sonoma State Historic Park Historic-style Event Space and Lodging
The California Department of Parks and Recreation is accepting proposals for a 50-year concession contract for the operation and development of historic-style event space and lodging services at Sonoma State Historic Park. Proposals are due by 2:00 P.M. on September 15, 2026 at the Department of Parks and Recreation, 715 P Street, 13th Floor, Sacramento, CA 95814. A required tour and pre-proposal meeting will be held on May 18th, 2026 at 4:00 P.M. at the Presidio of Sonoma (Sonoma Barracks), 36 East Spain St., Sonoma CA 95476. California State Parks Concession Opportunity – The California Department of Parks and Recreation is accepting proposals for a 10-year concession contract for the operation of the historic-style specialty retail at Old Town San Diego State Historic Park (OTSDSHP). Proposals are due by 2:00 PM on June 5, 2026, at the Department of Parks and Recreation, 715 P Street, 13th Floor, Sacramento, CA 95814. A pre-proposal meeting and tour will be held on March 24, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Colorado House, Old Town San Diego State Historic Park, 2733 San Diego Ave. San Diego, CA 92110.
