In honor of Juneteenth and the 250th anniversary of American independence, California is offering a special edition California State Parks Historian Passport for free.
From June 15 through July 6, Californians can download a Historian Passport for free on ReserveCalifornia.com and use it for unlimited visits to participating parks from Juneteenth (June 19) until the end of 2026.
Take a journey through California’s past with the Historian Passport! For the low price of $50, the annual pass provides unlimited free entry for up to four people to more than 30 state historic parks and museums that charge a per-person admission fee or a vehicle day-use fee. Visit an authentic California Mission, learn about California's Gold Rush and discover the stories unveiled by over a million historic artifacts around the Golden State.
The Historian Passport is valid for 12 months from the month purchased. Admittance and use subject to available space. The pass (photocopies not accepted) must be presented at entrance station and displayed on the rearview mirror or vehicle dashboard (as applicable) when visiting state historic parks that honor this pass; proof of purchase not accepted for entry.
